Roush Fenway Racing will cut from three to two Cup teams in 2017 and loan driver Chris Buescher to JTG Daugherty Racing, which will expand to a two-car operation next season. The move allows Roush Fenway to keep Buescher under contract while trying to revitalize its performance for an organization whose proud history includes putting five drivers into the Chase in 2005, two Cup championships and 135 Cup victories. Winless the past two seasons, Roush Fenway put no drivers in the top 20 in the 2016 standings -- Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished 21st in points, while Trevor Bayne was 22nd and the recently released Greg Biffle was 23rd.Stenhouse and Bayne remain as Roush Fenways full-time Cup drivers. The teams charter (NASCARs version of a franchise) for what was Biffles No. 16 car will be leased to JTG Daugherty Racing for Buescher in 2017. Stenhouse will have a new crew chief in 2017, as former Biffle crew chief Brian Pattie will replace Nick Sandler, who will head the Roush Fenway engineering department. We have been able to shore up our plans for 2017 and we feel that this will continue to move us in a direction that will yield improved performance and results, Roush Fenway co-owner Jack Roush said in a statement. We saw improvement in our cars and made substantial gains in our performance at times last season, and we will continue to build on that by maintaining a robust engineering group in order to take the next step by consistently running up front.Buescher, the 2015 Xfinity Series champion who drove for Roush Fenway Racing affiliate Front Row Motorsports as a rookie in 2016, finished 16th in the standings thanks to making the Chase with a win in the rain-shortened August race at Pocono. He was 29th in the points in the regular season but earned a spot in the Chase with that win. The 24-year-old Buescher now joins AJ Allmendinger, who was 19th in the standings last year, as part of a two-car Chevrolet stable at JTG Daugherty. The team did not announce a car number, crew chief or sponsor for Buescher.Im thankful for the opportunity and look forward to competing for a spot in the Chase, Buescher said.JTG Daugherty racing is co-owned by Tad and Jodi Geschickter and ESPN basketball analyst Brad Daugherty.Roush Fenway also announced an organizational restructuring. General manager Robbie Reiser will be reassigned within the organization. Kevin Kidd, who joined the organization a year ago and has assumed much of that role over the past 12 months as the Cup team manager, has been named competition director. Tommy Wheeler, who has overseen vehicle production, was named operations manager. BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- Nineteen people were selected as potential jurors Monday in a lawsuit by a former Penn State assistant football coach who says he witnessed onetime fellow coach Jerry Sandusky abuse a boy in the team shower more than 15 years ago.Ten women and nine men were qualified for a pool of 28, which lawyers will pare down to 12 jurors and four alternates. The jurors will hear Mike McQuearys defamation, whistleblower and misrepresentation lawsuit against the university. The jury selection process could wrap up Tuesday, and opening statements are scheduled in a week.McQueary, who played quarterback for the Nittany Lions in the 1990s, says he was working as a graduate assistant coach when in early 2001 he was in a team locker room and noticed Sandusky sexually abusing a boy. He reported it the next morning to then-head coach Joe Paterno, who in turn alerted administrators.Paternos handling of that complaint was cited by trustees as among the reasons he was fired in November 2011, days after Sandusky was charged with child molestation. Paterno died in early 2012.After speaking with Paterno, McQueary talked to two Penn State administrators, athletic director Tim Curley and vice president Gary Schultz. But it was more than a decade later that charges were filed against Sandusky.Curley and Schultz were charged, along with the then-president, Graham Spanier, for theeir actions in response to the Sandusky scandal.ddddddddddddMcQuearys lawsuit argues he was defamed by a statement issued by Spanier in support of Curley and Schultz the day they were charged. He says he was retaliated against by the university for reporting Sandusky and helping the prosecution. And he says he was the victim of misrepresentation, citing assurances by Curley and Schultz they would investigate what he told them and respond appropriately.McQueary was put on leave when Sandusky, Curley and Schultz were arrested, and the university didnt renew his contract the following summer. He had been making $140,000 a year.In an August order denying Penn States request to delay the trial, Judge Thomas Gavin said McQueary has not been able to find a coaching job at any level, is unemployed and has exhausted financial resources.McQuearys lawsuit seeks prospective lost wages and damages.Sandusky was convicted in 2012 of dozens of counts of sexual abuse of children, although he maintains his innocence and is pursuing appeals. Curley, Schultz and Spanier await trial in Harrisburg, after a state appeals court earlier this year threw out several of the more serious counts against them. A pretrial hearing in those cases is scheduled for Thursday. Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
